Book an eventBook the Yorkshire Chamber Choir for your event

The music at your ceremony should receive the same professional standard of co-ordination as the rest of your wedding arrangements. Be confident that the music you choose makes your wedding day a special occasion.

From within its membership the Yorkshire Philharmonic Choir can provide a suitably-sized choir to add the final touch to any important event. For weddings, the Yorkshire Chamber Choir, a group of around 24 singers, can be guaranteed to provide a high quality musical background for the big day.

We can help you select suitable works to enhance that special occasion and are happy to meet to discuss arrangements and provide suggestions about anthems. Our extensive repertoire includes:

  • Ave Verum Corpus (Mozart)
  • Ave Maria (Bach/Gounod)
  • Panis Angelicus (Franck)
  • Gaelic Blessing (Rutter)
  • Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (Bach)
  • Locus Iste (Bruckner)
  • Cantique de Jean Racine (Faure)
  • Gloria (Vivaldi)
  • Ave Maria (Schubert)
  • Let the People Praise Thee (Mathias)

Let the Yorkshire Chamber Choir lead and support your music at this unique moment in your lives. Our normal fee is £400, excluding the cost of the organist or other instrumentalists, but we are happy to discuss a more extensive or ambitious programme of music, or a larger number of singers at a fee to be agreed.

A surprise 'Royal' performance by the YPC

Members of the Yorkshire Philharmonic, performing as the Yorkshire Chamber Choir, were delighted to be invited to sing at the wedding of Harry Aubrey - Fletcher and Louise Stourton at Aldborough, North Yorkshire on Saturday 9 January 2011. The choir had no knowledge beforehand that the guest list included Prince William, who was an usher, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Princess Beatrice. The groom is one of Prince William's oldest friends having been at prep school and Eton together. He is the youngest son of Sir Henry Aubrey-Fletcher, 8th Baronet and Lord Lieutenant of Buckinghamshire. The bride is the eldest daughter of Edward, the 24th Baron Stourton, 28th Baron Segrave, 27th Baron Mowbray.
The choir assisted the congregational singing and sang 'The Lord Bless you and keep you (J Rutter), Ave Maria (F Schubert) and My True Love hath my heart (C. Gounod) during the signing of the register, the latter being a specific request of the bride and groom, that it be sung to them, as they stood amonst the choir.
Your wedding may not have such a guest list, but the YPC will be equally happy to perform at your wedding or event and will enhance your celebration just as much as they did on that special day.
